My Poems (in Vietnamese)...
Writing poems was part of my hobbies. It's like story tellings in certain rythm. I stared probably when I was sixth grade or so (1978).
Left Vietnam in 1986, I unfortunately lost all of them.
Poems in this page were pretty much re-written (recollection of my memories) during my years in college when I got time.
I guess I can simply grouped them in different categories:
- The Lãng Mạng (Lang Mang) section simply reflects
one's feeling toward things or others. I wrote these poems mostly to reflect the feelings of
friends, loved ones, or even strangers that somehow - in a mysterious way - I felt a quick connection with;
unexpected, unasked, and unsought when the thoughts just came in mind.
- Hiện Thực (Hien Thuc) is my favorite category. Like a story teller, it simply reports
things as they are - normal daily lives of ordinary beings who struggle to get by. If these stories could touch your heart, make you pause, and think
of these unfortunate souls for just a moment, my mission is fulfilled.
- Nhớ Quê (Nho Que): Just a few ones to express one's feeling toward his
own home town. "There is no place like home" like the old saying has said, there were moments in one that he
could not help but feel homesick every once in a while.
- Tạp Biên (Tap Bien) or "miscellaneous writings": Just a few silly poems that
fit in none of the above categories. It gives me a chance to observe things philosophically via a poetic point of view.
- Tuỳ Bút (Tuy But): Not for poems. It is simply for
a few silly writings of mine in Vietnamese; just another way of recording a few wandering thoughts that bring some
heart-warm feelings whenever I go back to things I hold dearly in the past.
Once again, thanks for stopping by.
